Well, no, no. I mean, it shortens my lifespan, but it shouldn't kill me directly. like one day a person, or something. I can't really remember what it is.
[Peace held her hand up as if to soothe Triffany's fear.]
I think that they are. Or at least to a time where they don't have to worry about gods having petty fights.
[Triffany won't voice it, but part of her wonders if it's comforting to know about how much time she has left in this world. It doesn't rule out terrible accidents, but personally, it would remove a lot of dread.]
Give them a few centuries, and hopefully they'll be back to a Ryslig that's come back to life. [She sighs and watches the empty sky where the dead walked into.] Who knows, there's less horrifying situations they could find themselves in.
I mean, anywhere that isn't "oh, you might be eaten by monsters who are there unwillingly" is a good place, in my opinion.
[She laughs a little raggedly and sighs.]
Maybe a reality where they're all small, talking animals. Or a reality where there's an actual utopia for them. Or many hundreds of years where the cycle ends. I hope the cycle here ends sooner than that, but... gotta manage those expectations.
We won’t live to see it, but hopefully, down the line, the humans take back the world for their world, yeah? [This is kind of what Faramir hoped for, too. A distant future where Man and Monster unite to claim Ryslig for themselves. It’s an impossibility in Triffany’s mind, but what does she know about predicting the future?]
But I like the idea of reincarnation. You get another chance someplace happier with the people you wished could have stayed longer in your life.
I do too, even if most people have to wait a while. There's not a lot of Witches where I'm from. So we get - zip! - instant reincarnation into a new life. I guess in return for a shorter lifespan, we get to skip to the front of the line.
[Peace knows all sorts of things about predicting the future - including how nebulous it can be.]
It will be nice if the people here and in Ryslig properly get a reprieve from their gods. Even if their gods are huge jerks.

But it can’t kill you here, can it? It’s not like back home where-
[She doesn’t finish the sentence. Triffany grips her paws together and centers herself.]
You think they’re heading off to another world?

[Go ahead, GEEVES, shock her. You won't.]

[She leans over Peace, checking her for any remaining wounds.]
You ready to head back, hun?
